Inspired by one of my favorite movies as a young girl, I recreated my version of The Bride of Frankenstein as an OOAK Art Doll. Even though she was a spooky lab creation, I always thought she was a beauty and had sophistication.
Her body was sewn from a white cotton fabric and her arms are wrapped with ivory sari ribbon bandages. She wears a two layered bridal gown. The underlayer is a white tunic dress similar to the original movie style. The second layer is a white lace cover that is cinched under the arms. An ivory ruffle trim was sewn at the neckline.
Her face is an original sculpt of clay, inspired by the original actress Elsa Manchester. Her hair is a black and white Shetland roving fiber styled in the iconic fashion she is known for.
The Bride is permanently attached to a wooden base that is painted an ivory/cream color. It is signed and titled on the bottom of the base. She stands 15 inches in height x 12 inches in width.
