Day of the Dead - OOAK Art Doll - for Celebrating our Ancestors

Only 1 left in stock

This OOAK (original one of a kind) Art Doll was created for Honoring and Celebrating the Day of the Dead. She was designed to be displayed as a wall hanging. Her intricate details and bold colors make her an absolute statement piece in any home. She is a true inspiration in celebrating the lives of our ancestors and loved ones who have crossed over.

Her total height is 14 inches x 9 inches in width. Her body is comprised of 3 sections. The first section, her head, torso, and arms were sewn from a bold black cotton fabric with a tree silhouette pattern. The second section, attached to the bottom of her torso, is a heart shape sewn from a black cotton fabric with a bright flower design.  And the third section, hung underneath the second section, is an additional heart shape sewn from a black cotton fabric with miniature flower pattern. This third heart is attached with a string of beads, a turquoise flower bead and a gemstone skull bead.

Her face is an original sculpt of clay, painted with Acrylics to resemble a "sugar skull". The face was sealed with a satin finish and attached with two red glass faceted beads.

Her hair was created with black acrylic wool, attached in a long hair style, and pulled back into a bun. Three red silk flowers adorn her hair at the forehead.

In each hand she holds a salmon colored stiffened fabric flower with two long satin ribbons in red and orange.

A satin ribbon loop and button are attached at her upper back which serves to hang her on the wall for display.

This Day of the Dead Art Doll is a part of my Wisdom Keeper Art Doll Collection, created for adult collectors and NOT for children because of their small parts.
